We are hugely excited to be back for this edition with another roundtable. Come and listen to three of this year’s guests representing different roles within the Spanish film industry: director Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, actor Judith Fernández (both from Band Together), and producer Rodrigo Espinel (Lust for Life).
Daniel Sánchez Arévalo is a Madrid-born screenwriter and filmmaker with more than thirty years of experience in the industry and has been nominated multiple Goya awards. He rose to fame
with his feature film debut, Dark Blue Almost Black (2006), and went on to write and direct hits like Fat People (2009), Family United (2013) and Seventeen (2019).
Judith Fernández is a young Galician actor who grew up in Edinburgh. She has been working prominently in Spanish television in series such as Acacias 38 (2015-2021) and the Netflix miniseries The Asunta Case (2024).
Rodrigo Espinel has produced various audiovisual projects in film, television, advertising and new media in Spain, the United Kingdom, Peru and Mexico. Some of the films he has produced are Out in the Open (2019), The Three Wise Men vs. Santa (2022), and This Too Shall Pass (2025).
We will also be welcoming back Professor Nuria Capdevila Argüelles to host the roundtable and post discussion questions.
