Professor Nuria Capdevila-Argüelles (University of Exeter) and Spanish filmmaker Paula Ortiz (University of Barcelona) will present their audio-visual project Cartasvivas (www.cartasvivas.org). In Cartasvivas voices from women’s history come back to haunt us embodied in leading actresses from the Spanish-speaking world. This project brings back the legacy of women who played a key role in twentieth-century history or actively lived through the social and literary avantgarde of Spain and Latin America. We present you their thoughts and words in a new format that aims to be educational. In Cartasvivas you will find ideas, emotions and achievements of women that participated in the tense modernity of the last century. We hope you enjoy these memory snapshots.
