Over a period of 40 years a legendary music and arts club - El Johnny - established itself within a university halls of residence in Madrid, which, over the years hosted some of Spain’s most famous musicians and artists.
A place that became a myth, this documentary transposes the viewer into the life and times of the venue through its silent creator, Alejandro Reyes.
Director Andrea Barrionuevo perfectly captures the zeitgeist of Madrid before and during la Transición – a period of cultural liberation and political turmoil in the capital.
