Professor Nuria Capdevila-Argüelles (University of Exeter) and Spanish filmmaker
Paula Ortiz (University of Barcelona) will present their audio-visual project
Cartasvivas (www.cartasvivas.org). In Cartasvivas voices from women’s history
come back to haunt us embodied in leading actresses from the Spanish-speaking
world. This project brings back the legacy of women who played a key role in
twentieth-century history or actively lived through the social and literary avantgarde
of Spain and Latin America. We present you their thoughts and words in a
new format that aims to be educational. In Cartasvivas you will find ideas, emotions
and achievements of women that participated in the tense modernity of the last
