Drama / Romance
After leaving her rural Spanish village during the 1930s, 21-year-old Lucía (Lucía Jiménez) returns in 1944, after Gen. Franco has taken over and the country is under dictatorial rule. While there, she notices Manuel (Juan Diego Botto), a blacksmith who is part of a local Maquis resistance group that refuses to acknowledge the new government. Moved by the courage of this young man, Lucía becomes involved in the uprising, even with the danger that surrounds such a stand against Franco's regime.
